About Licensure

Social Workers in the state of Arizona are regulated by the Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (BBHE).  The Arizona licensure law is a "practice act" that restricts the practice of psychotherapy to behavioral health professionals licensed at the highest level.  In the case of social work, the highest level is LCSW.  For more information about the AZ licensure law, go to our Frequently Asked Questions.

Levels of Licensure
